Is ChatGPT recommending your business — or your competitor?
When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini for a plumber, a lawyer or a restaurant in your town, one business gets named. This free check asks all three assistants about your industry and location and tells you whether you came up — then keeps going: your Google Business Profile, where you land in Google Maps, how fast your site loads on a phone, whether Google and AI can actually read your website, and which social profiles are linked. One report, seven sections, on screen and in your inbox.

What your report looks like
Below is the summary page of a real report, generated for a fictional Glens Falls plumber: the four headline numbers, the one-line verdict, the ranked fix list and the plan that fits. The full version adds six detail sections and a word-for-word appendix of what each AI said — read the complete sample report.

7 Priority Fix List
About this sample. Riverbend Plumbing & Heating and the three competitors named in it are fictional; the scores are illustrative. Everything else — the seven sections, the wording, the ranking logic behind the fix list and the plan recommendation — is exactly what the live check produces for a real business.
Seven things that decide whether you get recommended
AI assistants don't rank pages; they compose an answer from what they can verify. Each of these is a place they — and Google — look before naming a business.
AI visibility
ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini are each asked several natural questions — "best [your industry] in [your town]", "who should I call for…" — and we check whether you're named and who is named instead. Why: this is the new front door; if a competitor is the answer, you never got a chance.
Google Business Profile health
Rating, review count, primary category, hours, phone and website. Why: it's the record Google and the assistants trust most; an incomplete or mis-categorised profile gets skipped.
Google Maps position (estimated)
Where you land when someone in your town searches Maps for your service, and the three businesses above you. Why: only the top three show on the map pack — everyone else has to be scrolled to.
Website performance
A live Google PageSpeed test on mobile and desktop, including how long until your page is actually visible. Why: most local searches happen on a phone, Google ranks the mobile version, and slow pages lose visitors before they load.
On-page & schema
Title tag, meta description, main heading, LocalBusiness structured data, and whether your name, address and phone appear on the page. Why: this is how machines confirm who you are and what you do without guessing.
Social media presence
Whether your site links to real profiles on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X and TikTok. Why: linked, active profiles are extra proof the business is real and current.
Priority fix list
The three to five things that would move the needle most, ranked, each matched to the plan that takes care of it. Why: a score without a plan is just a number.
Why a business disappears in AI answers
A business shows up when its name, address, services and towns are consistent everywhere, when its website states plainly what it does and where, when structured data lets a machine confirm it, when it loads fast on a phone, and when steady reviews back it up. Miss any of those and the assistant recommends the business that didn't. This check finds which ones you're missing.
What we fix
- Entity and citation consistency (name, address, phone, categories)
- Schema markup for your organization, services, FAQs and reviews
- Google Business Profile completeness, category and activity
- Page speed and mobile performance
- Service and town pages written the way people ask AI
- Review velocity so recommendations have proof behind them
- Monthly re-checks on Google Maps and all three assistants
Common questions about the check
Can I see an example report before I run mine?
Yes. A summary of a sample report is shown further up this page, and the complete seven-section version with the AI transcripts is on the sample report page. The business in it is fictional; the format and logic are identical to what you get.
Is the check really free?
Yes. The score, the full on-screen report and the emailed PDF cost nothing and carry no obligation. We follow up by email with what the report means and how to fix it; reply if you want help, ignore it if you don't.
Why does it only ask for my business name and town first?
That's enough to find your Google Business Profile. From it we pre-fill your website, phone and industry so the second step is mostly done — you just confirm and tell us where to send the report.
What does it check besides the AI assistants?
Your Google Business Profile (rating, reviews, category, completeness), your estimated position in Google Maps and who ranks above you, a live Google PageSpeed test on mobile and desktop, your homepage's title, description, heading, schema and contact details, and which social profiles your site links to. It ends with a ranked fix list.
Which AI assistants does it check?
ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini — live, at the moment you run the check, using their web-search modes so the answers match what a customer sees in the apps.
Why did the AI name a competitor and not me?
Almost always because the competitor's information is easier for the AI to verify: a complete Business Profile, consistent listings, a website that states its services and towns plainly, structured data and recent reviews. Those are the things we fix.
How accurate is the Maps position?
It's an estimate from one search at one point. Maps results shift with the searcher's exact location, device and time of day, so treat it as a snapshot — but a business outside the top three consistently is outside the top three for most customers.
Why does it take a minute or two?
Because it runs a real Google PageSpeed test of your site alongside nine live AI questions. The speed test alone can take Google 30–60 seconds on a slow site.
What happens after I run it?
Your full report appears on this page, and a copy with the PDF is emailed to you within a minute or two. Over the following days you'll get three short emails explaining the results. If you want it fixed, reply to any of them or tap the chat button and the assistant will book a 15-minute walkthrough.
How much does it cost to fix?
Get Found Everywhere is $897/month and includes the AI Visibility Foundation program; Market Leader is $1,297/month and includes AI Visibility Growth; Market Leader Plus is $1,797/month. All month to month with 30 days' notice, and the setup fee is waived when you book within 7 days of your walkthrough.
Can I run it for a business outside New York?
Yes. The check works for any business in the United States, and most of our work is remote.
Run the check, then decide
Two minutes. Your full report on screen, the PDF in your inbox, and a straight answer about what to do next.
