Sample AI Visibility Report: exactly what the free check gives you
This is the complete report the free AI Visibility Check produces, shown for a fictional Glens Falls plumber. Seven sections and an appendix: whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini named the business and who they named instead, Google Business Profile health, estimated Google Maps position, a live PageSpeed test, the on-page and schema check, social links, and a ranked fix list with the plan that fits. Read it, then run yours — it takes about two minutes.
The short version. An AI visibility report tells a local business whether AI assistants recommend it when a customer asks, and why not when they don’t. Ours asks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini nine customer-style questions live, scores the answers out of 100, then checks the six things the assistants and Google verify before naming a business: the Google Business Profile, Maps position, mobile page speed, on-page basics and schema, contact details, and linked social profiles. It ends with three to five fixes in priority order. In the sample below, a plumber with a 4.7-star Google rating scores 22 out of 100 with AI — the most common pattern we see.
How to read the AI visibility score
The score is the share of nine live AI answers that named the business. Three assistants, three questions each: “Who are the best [industry] companies in [town]?”, “Can you recommend a reliable [industry] business near [town]?” and “What is the top-rated [industry] company in [town]?”
The assistants do not know the business exists. A competitor gets every recommendation. Usually a data-consistency problem, not a quality problem.
Named sometimes, missed often. The assistants hedge because something about the business is hard to verify: reviews, schema, service area, or listings that disagree.
Named in most answers. The job is to keep the lead as competitors catch on, and to make sure the calls it produces get answered.

7 Priority Fix List
A Appendix -- what each AI actually said
About this sample. Riverbend Plumbing & Heating and the three competitors named in it are fictional; the scores are illustrative. Everything else — the seven sections, the wording, the ranking logic behind the fix list and the plan recommendation — is exactly what the live check produces for a real business.
What this sample business would do first
Riverbend is not a bad business. It has a 4.7 rating, a complete Google profile and a mobile-friendly site. It is losing AI recommendations because the assistants cannot verify it: no structured data, no address on the homepage, a homepage that takes almost six seconds to show anything on a phone, and 31 reviews against a competitor’s 212. Those are plumbing problems, not reputation problems, and they are fixable in weeks.
The fix list is ranked by how much each item is costing the business right now. Getting named by the assistants sits at the top because it is the largest missed audience; speed is second because it also drags down the Maps position and every conversion on the site; the schema and address fixes are cheap and unlock the first one.
What each fix does
- Entity and schema cleanup — LocalBusiness structured data plus the same name, address and phone on the site, Google and every listing, so the assistants stop hedging.
- Speed rebuild — the homepage visible on a phone in under 2.5 seconds; helps the Maps ranking and keeps visitors long enough to call.
- Maps 3-pack push — primary category, service-area pages and a steady flow of reviews to close the gap on the three businesses above.
- Pages written the way people ask AI — one service or town page a month that answers the question plainly, with the proof attached.
- Monthly re-check — the same nine questions and Maps search every month, so you see the score move instead of taking anyone’s word for it.
Questions about the sample report
Is the sample report a real business?
No. Riverbend Plumbing & Heating and the competitors named in it are fictional, and the numbers are illustrative. The layout, sections, wording and the logic that ranks the fix list and recommends a plan are exactly what the live check produces for a real business.
How do I get a report like this for my business?
Run the free AI Visibility Check. Enter your business name and town, confirm the Google profile it finds, tell it where to send the report, and about two minutes later the full seven-section report is on screen and a PDF is in your inbox. No sales call is required.
How is the AI visibility score calculated?
ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini are each asked three questions a customer would ask about your industry and town — best companies, a reliable recommendation, the top-rated company. That is nine answers. The score is the share of those answers that name your business, out of 100. Named in 2 of 9 is 22; named in 6 of 9 is 67.
What counts as being "named" by an AI assistant?
Your business name, or a close variant of it, appears in the answer text. Being named alongside competitors still counts; being described generically ("a local plumber on Warren Street") without the name does not, because a customer could not act on it.
Why does a business with a good Google rating score low with AI?
Because the assistants do not rank businesses the way Google Maps does. They compose an answer from what they can verify across the web: a consistent name, address and phone everywhere, structured data on the website, plainly stated services and towns, and recent reviews. A 4.7-star business with none of that in place loses to a 4.6-star business that has it.
How often should I re-run the check?
Monthly. AI answers shift as competitors update their listings and publish content, and a change you make takes days to weeks to show up. Our AI Visibility programs include a monthly re-check on Google Maps and all three assistants so you can see the score move.
Does the check work for any industry?
Yes. It is built for local service businesses — plumbing, HVAC, electrical, legal, dental, restaurants, auto repair, home services — but it will run for any business in the United States that customers might ask an AI assistant to recommend.
