The first thing you should know as a business owner is how important your Google business account is. It’s what makes you show up and the local 3 pack of Google searches.
Google Business
Your Google business account also maintains your point of contact information such. Has your business name, address, phone number and website link. Weekly updates to your Google business in the form of posts, photos, and videos greatly enhanced the search engine optimization. This not only makes your Google business show up more, but it also increases your keyword rankings for your website because the two are linked.
Social Media
Social media and active social media increase what’s called a social signature for Google algorithms. These algorithms can see that your social media accounts have activity as far as engagement. Engagement is when someone comments, likes or shares one of your social media posts.
Location Turned On
Something else that people don’t realize is when you take photos or videos with your cell phone and your location is turned on, it actually embeds the coordinates of where that photo or video is taken. Google algorithms the opportunity to confirm that this is authentic and unique content, which then increases its credibility, then increasing your search engine optimization.
Update Content
Regularly updating your website that goes and videos is crucial to search engine optimization. Old days of creating a website and never touching it again for three years have long been proven to not be successful. You send money to develop a website and host it online. Then just tell effort of keeping it will greatly improve the effectiveness of that website for your business.
Analytics & Search Console
Another thing that I’ve noticed which is a big deal, is people use agencies and then don’t have access to their own Google Analytics and Google Search Council accounts, which is crucial in determining where their traffic is coming from and what keywords are ranking in order to drive traffic to their website. So it’s super important that you have access to those accounts.
Secure Your Website
One last thing that I noticed is overlooked a lot of times is having a certificate which is called an SSL certificate for your website. There should be a little lock icon. In the browser, showing not only people but Google algorithms that your site is secure. Not having an SSL certificate for your website and having this little padlock icon will dramatically decrease the effectiveness of it being found in search engines.
